Paul Shallcross

Paul joined Silverstream in 2020 as Head of Product Management. Previously he held senior engineering positions in a number of marine organisations including Rolls-Royce and Kongsberg Replenishment At Sea (RAS) business units. He was most recently the Engineering Manager for Coldharbour Marine, responsible for the technical oversight of a multi-disciplinary team undertaking the development and ship application engineering of ballast water treatment systems.

Paul has more than 20 years’ experience within the marine industry, which includes time at sea on commercial yachts as a Captain and Engineer, as well as leading the machinery and ships systems design teams at BMT Nigel Gee. Paul has maintained a passion for environmentally sensitive energy efficient design throughout his career. This has included the optimisation of propulsion systems, the application of waste heat recovery to yachts, and the improvement of HVAC system electrical loads. This experience spans all phases of the ship design and operational cycle, as well as vessel designs from 24m to 400m LOA for merchant, yacht and naval clients.

Paul graduated from Newcastle University with an MEng in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
