Kyriakos Moschonas

Project Engineer

Kyriakos joined Silverstream as Project Engineer after five years working at Houlder Ltd in the marine design consultancy department. Prior to this, Kyriakos worked on several newbuilding and retrofit projects such as the hybrid energy ferry, Victoria of Wight, for Wightlink Ferries; the 100m LNG Ro-Pax Dual Fuel Ferry for CalMac; and on the design installation of scrubber systems for Condor Ferries and Vroon. He has also conducted onboard surveys such as lightship surveys and inclining experiments for DFDS, P&O Ferries, Gosport Ferries, yacht and offshore platforms.

After a sabbatical year, when he joined the Greek Navy and sailed as a 2nd Mechanical Seaman with HS-466, Kyriakos re-joined Houlder Ltd and started as an On-site Manager on behalf of the owner at Cammell Laird Shipyard in Birkenhead during the building of the 128m Polar Research Vessel, the RRS Sir David Attenborough. The role involved liaison between the owner and the shipyard, and provision of technical advice to the owner’s on-site project manager.

Kyriakos is certified for LNG membrane tanks from GTT and for pure ballast systems from Alfa Laval. He graduated from Newcastle University in 2014 with a MSc degree in Naval Architecture and a BEng in Marine Engineering. Kyriakos is a member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology and is on the path to become a Chartered Engineer.
