Catriona Savage

Cat joined Silverstream in August 2023 as our Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead on Product Development and Application Engineering and all aspects of product quality, safety and performance. She joined Silverstream following a successful career at BMT as Technical Assurance and Capability Director, where she oversaw the business’s global Maritime, Environment, Defence & Security, Asset Management & Sustainment functions.

Cat trained as a Naval Architect at the University of Southampton at undergraduate and post graduate level. She has spent over 25 years in industry, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and academia. Cat is an Honorary Professor at UCL Mechanical Engineering having previously held the position of MoD Chair in Naval Architecture.

In a voluntary capacity, she holds positions as the President of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) and Chair of the Board of Trustees, as well as providing support to the RNLI as a member of its Technical Committee, and to the IMarEST as Vice-Chair of its Naval Engineering Special Interest Group. Cat is a Fellow of RINA, a member of IMarEST and the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors, and a Chartered Engineer.
