Neil Hopkins

Neil joined Silverstream in 2020 as Lead Discipline Structural Engineer. Prior to this, he was at leading engineering, procurement and construction company, KBR, where he held the position of Lead Hull Structural Engineer on a newbuild FPSO project, responsible for the design and analysis of the FPSO hull structure.

Neil is a naval architect and structural engineer who has spent 21 years working in many fields within the marine industry including ship design and construction (KBR, Cammell Laird and BAE Systems), offshore platform structural design and installation (CB&I), classification (American Bureau of Shipping), and marine warranty (LOC). He has a wide range of experience working on the structural and statutory design of many vessel types including LNG carriers, FPSOs, pipe-lay vessels, oil carriers, cruise vessels and mega yachts.

Neil graduated from Newcastle University with a BEng in Naval Architecture, is a Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA), and a Chartered Engineer.
