Richard joined Silverstream in May 2020 and brings over 30 years experience of Automation and Instrumentation projects in numerous sectors including Marine and Power Generation industries. Most of his career has been focussed on bringing emerging and innovative technologies to the marketplace.
In the Marine and Offshore industry he has worked with companies including Zetechtics, Converteam, GE Power Conversion and the American Bureau of Shipping. Experienced in Design, Development, Commissioning and Survey roles, he has worked on Power Management, Vessel Management and Exhaust Gas Scrubber systems and has extensive experience in the integration of automation systems, analysis of performance data and resolving commissioning issues.
Richard graduated from the University of Kent at Canterbury in 1984 with a BSc. Electronic Engineering and then, in 1985, an MSc. In Instrumentation and Analytical Science from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST). At UMIST he subsequently undertook research into applications of Artificial Intelligence to Instrumentation Systems. After leaving UMIST he led a team of software engineers developing Real-Time Electrochemical Corrosion Monitoring instrumentation for Power Generation and Chemical plants. He has also worked extensively as an independent contractor developing automation software and IT systems.
