Chandra joined Silverstream Technologies in July 2019 from leading Classification Society, American Bureau Shipping Europe Ltd (‘ABS’). During his time there, he worked as a Senior Electrical and Automation Engineer in UK and European offices performing engineering design reviews and verification on electrical power generation and distribution systems, hazardous area equipment, ballast water management system and scrubber systems for installation on-board ABS classed vessels and providing technical support to Rule Development Team, Surveyors/ Equipment Original Manufacturers and Yards.
Prior to this, he spent 7 years as an Application Engineer in a project- led environment with GE Power Conversion UK Ltd. providing technical input on power systems, generators, switchgear, converters, transformers, AVR, induction motors and automation for both onshore and offshore. By way of earlier industry experience, Chandra worked as an Electrical Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff before which he acted as an M&E Commissioning Engineer at Montgomery Watson UK Ltd.
In 2019, Chandra graduated from the Royal Holloway University with a GCHQ certified MSc in Information Security (Part time) having completed a thesis of cyber risk assessment of maritime power systems. In 2007, he graduated from the Brunel University with MSc Honours in Sustainable Electrical Power Engineering. Chandra is a Chartered Engineer, and member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET), having previously chaired the IET Coventry and Warwickshire Local Chapter.
